Our verdict

The Juice Fountain Plus is the best execution of the centrifugal idea: an 850-watt motor that does not bog down, a genuine 3-inch chute that swallows whole apples, and dishwasher-safe parts that keep the daily routine tolerable. The tradeoff is physics, not build quality: at 13,000 RPM it is loud, foamy, and wasteful on leafy greens. If your juicing is apples, carrots, and oranges before work, this is the right machine.

What we like

  • 850-watt motor with two speeds reaches 13,000 RPM for fast extraction of hard produce.
  • Extra-wide 3-inch feed chute fits whole apples, reducing prep chopping significantly.
  • Titanium-reinforced cutting disc and micro-mesh filter are dishwasher safe for easier cleanup.

What to watch out for

  • Centrifugal design extracts less juice from leafy greens than any masticating juicer.
  • High-speed spinning is loud and produces more foam and faster-oxidizing juice.
  • The large footprint and multiple parts make storage and assembly bulkier than slow juicers.

Who it is for

Time-pressed households juicing hard fruits and root vegetables most mornings.

Motor and speed

The 850-watt motor drives two speeds: 6,500 RPM for soft fruit and 13,000 RPM for dense produce. That power matters because underpowered centrifugal juicers stall on carrots and beets, vibrating and heating up; the Breville's motor is consistently cited in retailer reviews as the reason it keeps up with daily hard-produce juicing. The cost of that power is noise: at full speed it is one of the loudest appliances in this guide.

Feed chute and prep

The 3-inch circular chute is the headline convenience feature: whole apples, peeled oranges, and halved beets drop straight in. Compared with the narrow chutes of masticating juicers, which demand everything be cut into strips, the Breville cuts prep time roughly in half for typical fruit-heavy recipes. The 1.1-quart juice jug with a froth separator and the integrated 2.6-quart pulp bin are sensibly sized for 2-4 servings.

Juice quality and yield

On apples, carrots, and citrus the Breville extracts quickly and completely; pulp comes out reasonably dry. On kale, spinach, and herbs it falls behind every masticating juicer: leaves ride the high-speed airflow and much of their juice ends in the pulp bin. The high-RPM process also whips air into the juice, producing a foam cap that the included separator only partly tames. Juice it and drink it promptly; it does not store as gracefully as slow-pressed juice.

How it stacks up

Against the Omega NC900HDC, the Breville wins decisively on speed and prep convenience but loses on green-juice yield, noise, and warranty (1 year vs 15 years). A morning apple-carrot-ginger juice takes under a minute in the Breville and several in the Omega. Against the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth, the Breville offers a more powerful motor (850W vs 800W), two speeds instead of one, and better-regarded build quality, while the Hamilton Beach proves the same centrifugal concept for much less money. Buy the Breville when speed is the priority and the budget allows; buy the Hamilton Beach when occasional use does not justify the premium.

Questions, answered

Can the Juice Fountain Plus handle leafy greens at all?

It will juice them, but inefficiently: expect wet pulp and lower yield than a masticating juicer. Tightly pack greens between hard produce like apple halves to improve extraction.

How loud is it really?

Very loud at high speed, comparable to a blender. Masticating juicers at 43-80 RPM are dramatically quieter if early-morning noise matters in your home.

Is the mesh filter hard to clean?

It is the one part that needs attention: rinse and brush it immediately after juicing before pulp dries into the fine mesh. The remaining parts are dishwasher safe.
