HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless Review (2026)
In-depth review of the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless: 300-hour battery, DTS spatial audio, comfort, and mic quality.
HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless
300-hour battery that ends charging anxiety.
Our verdict
The Cloud Alpha Wireless is the easiest headset recommendation in gaming. Its 300-hour battery removes charging from your life, DTS spatial audio genuinely helps positioning, and HyperX comfort remains excellent. Buy it if you want a proven wireless workhorse. Skip it if you need Bluetooth or ANC.
What we like
- Up to 300 hours of battery life
- DTS Headphone:X spatial audio
- Comfortable for long sessions
What to watch out for
- 2.4GHz only, no Bluetooth
- No active noise cancelling
- Bulky for travel
Who it is for
PC gamers who want reliable wireless audio and never want to think about battery again.
Sound quality
The 50 mm dual-chamber drivers deliver clean, balanced sound with restrained bass. DTS Headphone:X adds convincing positional cues in supported games. It is not the most detailed headset here, but its tuning works across game genres and music without fatigue.
Comfort and battery
HyperX's comfort formula holds: moderate clamp, deep memory-foam cups, and reasonable weight. The headline is battery: up to 300 hours means months of typical use per charge. This alone justifies the purchase for many players.
Microphone and connectivity
The detachable mic is clear with decent noise rejection, fine for team comms though not broadcast grade. Connectivity is 2.4GHz only, which keeps latency low but leaves phone and Switch handheld use out.

Questions, answered
Is 300 hours real?
It is the rated figure at moderate volume; real use varies with volume and features. Even at half that, it laps every competitor.
Does it work on PS5?
Yes, via the USB dongle for game audio. Chat works on PS5 as well, though some advanced features are PC-focused.
Can I use it with my phone?
Not wirelessly: there is no Bluetooth. A wired connection via cable is possible where supported.
