Monitor Light Bars: Reviews, Comparisons & Buying Guide
Glare-free desk light that hangs on your monitor and leaves your desk alone.
A monitor light bar hangs on top of your display and throws light forward onto your desk, not back onto your screen. That one design choice solves the two problems of desk lamps at a computer: a lamp beside the monitor lights half the desk and glares into your eyes, while a light bar lights the keyboard, papers, and coffee without adding a single reflection to the screen.
The picks below weigh what separates a good bar from a strip of LEDs on a clip: asymmetric optics that keep light off the screen, enough brightness for a dark room without washing out the display, colour temperature control for late nights, and controls you can reach without standing up. Fit matters too, since curved and thin monitors reject bars that flat screens accept.
